The Usual Summer Story
Every year some stories just always appear. One of them is problems at airports with luggage delays. At the end of last week the first of the year appeared.

As is usual it was forecasting doom and gloom in the finest ridiculous tabloid approach. In this case claiming passengers would have to travel abroad on holiday without their luggage.
Gatwick airport has apparently had to employ an extra 60 baggage handlers because the contractor who provides the service is not managing.
Now of course this immediately begs the question - why on earth is the work of taking bags from the airport and putting them on the plane contracted out? Is this another farcical situation so typical of outsourcing?
